JACQUELYN COX
Jacquelyn Cox attended Westlake High School in Austin . Her passion for soccer brought her to Abilene where she played for Hardin-Simmons University. Jacquelyn graduated in 2007 with her bachelor's degree in exercise science, and she currently works for Hendrick Health Club as a STOTT PILATES® instructor and a lead counter sales representative.
With a sport and exercise-affiliated background, Jacquelyn has discovered a deeper and more balanced approach to fitness through Pilates. She believes Pilates is the missing link for anyone seeking increased muscular strength, flexibility and endurance with a focus on protecting and restoring the spine.
Jacquelyn enjoys spending time with her one-year-old son Jaden, attending Hardin-Simmons sport games and other community events. She is training for local fun runs and has her sights on completing a marathon in 2009. She has a passion for helping people incorporate life-long fitness and health in ways they will enjoy and become addicted to.
Jacquelyn would like to show you how intelligent exercise can give you a more meaningful experience that will carry over into life outside of the health club.
KEVIN THOMPSON
"With Pilates training, I can help you build a strong core so that you may avoid many of those long-term problems while improving the quality of your life right now."
After a career in restaurant management, Kevin saw how easy it was to slowly gain weight without paying attention to one’s lifestyle habits. As a result of years watching Americans’ poor eating habits and his own disappointment in personal weight gain, he decided to make a career change. As most fitness professionals start their career with personal training, Kevin has worked as a personal trainer before branching into leading the Apex Bodybugg nutrition program at Hendrick Health Club.
Kevin believes that women and men can benefit greatly from Pilates. It will help with all types of functional movement. This includes everything from daily actions like stepping out of a car to sport-specific moves. Pilates will focus on strengthening the vital little muscles that support your hips, torso, shoulders, and back. We tend to "lose" these muscles if we don't use them, which is why so many people end up with devastating hip, back and rotator cuff problems.
